The Echoing Crypt

You step into a vaulted crypt where a monolithic stone sarcophagus dominates the centre of a recessed floor. Other sarcophagi line the edges of the crypt illuminated by cold torch light. The central stone sarcophagus' carved lid sits slightly open, slid to the side, only a crack, enough to just allow the scent of decay to leak out. 

From deep within the stone box comes a chilling and rhythmic tapping sound, like broken fingernails biding their time. A glittering trail of ancient, gold coins spills out from the gap and across the floor, but as you approach, you notice they are coated in a thick, slime that smells intensely of ozone and rot.
