The Forgotten Scriptorium

Books, scrolls and loose papers fill the shelves that occupy the walls, all surrounding a central lectern. A tome lies open, and words, in an unknown language, appear to write themselves on its pages.

Full pages tear themsleves from the tome, fluttering into the air. The lettering  briefly glowing with arcane energy before fading and falling to the stone floor.

A flickering ethereal figure, stands before the lectern, blinking in and out of material existance. The spirit completely ignores your entry. However, the heavy crystal inkwell beside it pulses with a volatile, violet magical light that illuminates the tome.
